Jane is handed the case of a missing oil rigger who was apparently acting extremely paranoid before he disappeared

Janes relationship with her father her struggles to find out what happened to her mother all while trying to work at a successful lawenforcement career in the midst of several murders and an impending attack on an oilrig made for a great back story

Reids careful and slowly determined hope and actions to try to win janes heart back along with the developments with his wifes though he thought she was dead machinations all while trying to rekindle hope in a renewed relationship with jane was welldrawn

I wasn’t expecting a fullblown terrorist plot that was inspired by the tragic explosion that happened on the deepwater horizon though i do not believe that reallife incident was a terrorist attack
