Quality

So when i was gifted this book i was so in shock at how much i related with the main charecter and it helped me so much

It picked up well and became very contemplative

I’ll just say that not knowing the author’s background i was shocked as aza interacted with the people around her

The book did things i hate like name more than one important character with the same first letter

Competitiveness

It really helps you see how someone else may see the world

Though i must admit the storyline may be standard but in no way does that speak to the characters depth and circumstances

If i could recommend only one book to teens and helping professionals this year it would be turtles all the way down

This book still had the typical ya tropes like the protagonist being the weird one and having dead family members but what it did well was to use these ideas to create depth to the characters not just an interesting backstory that is told once and then discarded

Green writes with some profundity probably too much for a teenage girl and a little pithy

I don’t like to use the word “triggered” but that’s definitely what this did just because the inside of aza’s head is so like mine it’s like looking into a really painful mirror

I wanted her to be happy so bad
