The problem with a lot of the keyboards is that each membrane can only handle so many inputs at a time so you occasionally hit keys without getting a response from the pc

As an example if you take a typical modern keyboard and hold the asdf keys down youll get a long string of a single letter

There are 8 built in configuration options for various games that only light up certain keys or you can actually program it yourself to keep lit whichever keys you want

They are bright so if you sleep in the same room as the keyboard youll either need to cover them with electrical tape or unplug the keyboard before you sleep otherwise they can be quite distracting

You can see the leds in one of the attached pictures when i have the brightness on all the actual keys turned off

If the noise bothers you look for either brown or black switches just google cherry mx brown or black

I havent tested other switches as i dont have any on hand but looking at the keys they should be able to be replaced fine
