Two velcro straps help keep them in place even in deep snow. Shoe fits great-extra strap definitely gives more support to stay in place. The double strap helps secure the boats stay on the paws.

Size 3 is for a medium size dog like a pug or french bulldog but not for my maltese or yorkie. Their measurements guidelines are not correct. The velcro is not strong enough.
