Pros & Cons
Pros
There's something oddly reassuring when the power brick is much heavier and larger than the device it's powering. Power brick is big but still much much smaller compared to the xbox one brick lol. This comes with poe+ and 30 watts of power per port.
It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Great bargain. Love the auto-negotiate and poe/non-poe on every port.
This solution needed to support my poe wired cameras. I currently have it powering on 4 logitech alert cameras and 2 hikvision cameras. Only having to pull cat5e to each camera location.
Stepping up to gigabit from 100 megabit solved the collision problems on my home network. No compatibility issues with the splitters. Gigabit speed ports mean no worry about bottle necks at your switch.
Cons
Single switch generates more fan noise than all 4 dell switches combined. Was running 3 poe cameras, 1 poe+ camera,1 poe phone, 1poe wifi hotspot. Far more trouble than its to buy quality gear vs cheap gear like this.
Highlights
Quality
I am writing to warn others that it most definitely will not work with the ubiquity aps that require 24volts
Its already a little busy with the computers and the wireless but adding six hd and three sd cameras started causing some serious slowdowns
Packaging/appearance
Seems well made and worked 100 right out of the box
Competitiveness
It did take a little longer to get than most products
Currently supporting seven yealink ip phones very well
Some have also commented about poor warranty service from trendnet

The switching ic appears to be a realtek rtl8370 which has a heatsink though the heatsink is covered by the poe daughter cards
