First set of trekking poles I've used. Used them for an 8-mile hike right away and appreciate their quality. The reason I chose the OUTZIE poles from the wide selection on Amazon is because they seemed to be the best quality with the right features (cork hand grips, aluminum, shock absorbing, and compact) for the most reasonable price. My purpose for getting trekking poles was to reduce the impact walking and hiking have on my knees, ruined by years of running. Can't judge the knee help yet, but I'm looking forward to next weekend's hike. Amazon Prime got them to me in two days with free delivery, but a very positive surprise has been OUTZIE's communication with me through the proper channels. They provided a PDF user's guide for my new trekking poles, told me about their company, which I'm impressed with, and checked to see if I received the product on time. I highly recommend these OUTZIE trekking poles. I look forward to using more of their products in the future.  Read Less

I don't know how well the cork handles will hold up with sweat and extended use but the poles themselves so far seem pretty stable. I have not used them hard yet and only one short hike. I have to put a lot of my weight on poles when hiking due to instability, muscle weakness and limited mobility in my legs due to arthritis and nerve damage. I love to hike though so I have to use hiking poles, can't do it without them! Since I do have to put so much weight on hiking poles and my body can break too easily if I fall I am easing into trying out these poles and testing them more before relying on them completely.So far though I think if you want a decent set of hiking poles and don't have to put too much weight on them then for a normal healthy body these will most definitely be a good bargain and choice. They are relatively simple to adjust and the springy shock absorption worked nicely. The bag is a nice thought but the design is not sufficient to carry them in like a back pack, however for storing them in the car after a muddy hike it will serve fine to contain the dirt instead of it getting all over your car, which is how I am using the bag.I have an older pair of hiking poles similar to these, the old ones I have were about twice the cost and they have worked well and held up for the most part but after years of hard use one of them was starting to have trouble staying extended. So I decided to try these and although the quality is less then the expensive ones I bought, I have to say, for the price of these hiking poles you get a fairly sturdy good set indeed. I think if you want to try out some hiking poles for light use this is decent affordably priced starter set.  Read Less
