I am not sure why some of the reviews were so bad perhaps they were using the lids on one of the many knock offs of the yeti product

It appears the area under the sliding opening leaks even when closed

It is physics not the product so every now and then you have to pop the mouthpiece open to release the pressure and push the lid back down
