Unlike ghosts of yesterday, this book is written in a very emotionless way. The book still contains the unnecessary foul language and the bothersome * suggestions.

The story itself was a nice fillin between the first and second liveaction tf movies helping to flesh out some of the more vague and underdeveloped plot points such as where the two different objectives of starscream and soundwave and the other decepticons still loyal to the presumably deceased megatron originated leading into movie 2

To wit in this book on the autobot side we add an altmode tow truck named salvage which is the name of a wellknown bot character from the recent youngeraudience themed flashanimation tf series rescue bots who transforms into a recycling collection vehicle and is clearly not the same warrior individual described in this book and a small altmodemotorcycle character named knockout which is the name of a very wellknown decepticon character made famous in his role as megatrons medic on the nemesis in the recent cgi tf runaway hit series transformers prime

These name duplications are very distracting in a thoroughly unecessary and needless way and as i have said in other reviews really mess up the fluidity of the read

The jerky pacing is smoothed out the multiple story lines which didnt get enough screen time in the movie to be useful are detailed out here and actually serve a purpose

In short alan dean foster took a really bad screenplay and made a really good scifi yarn from it
