But the pot’s metal seems to be poor quality made in china obviously chinese metal

Then i let it cool naturally opened it up dumped the water and repeated the hand washing and drying

The first thing i noticed is that the finish on the inside of the pot right up to the waterline has dulled despite the sponge and soapy water washing and feels rough not smooth like the finish above the water line

I don’t think this will affect function but it sure makes me wonder what nasty stuff leaches into the pots cooking water

The instructions do not emphasize how critical this piece is for functioning nor how mercurial its nature
