I would imagine for the price even if it were real gold it would be a very thin coating that wouldnt last long

The chinese when making shiny gold charms tend to take plastic color it silver then coat it with a golden yellow color to make it appear gold

The box isnt the typical paper box box appears to be plastic so perhaps might last longer than paper
