The switch from standard wifi to 5g hasn't effected these antennas at all.

Reviews that claim no improvement or worse signal, note that this antenna uses a rp-sma connection, which does not have a pin on the antenna side.

This antenna will screw onto a rp-sma or sma connector, however only rp-sma connector has a pin, whereas the sma connector has no pin on the male side, which means it will not make a proper connection with this antenna.

In my case, the little antenna on the network card was hidden from the wifi access point by the body of the tower-style computer case.
