The placemat is a good quality thick plastic. The lamination itself is fairly heavy and there is a 1/2 border of lamination around the actual map of the world. The tot talk brand placements have super lamination - semi-rigid, thick grade. Stout ly lam... Read More

The names of the countries are legible even for small countries. Our six year old stares at it while eating, and reads aloud the names. We sometimes look up countries that we read about in the nyt/wsj.

This mat, combined with several others have been great for children and adults alike. Kids love it. We are buying another one of each after the first ones started to peel back at the corners.

Cons

It omits lesotho altogether. It's not a good placemat for toddlers because it moves around too much and makes a big mess. The inaccuracy of the map is annoying.
