However be advised that the password software is useless for both mac and pc versions on the mac it simply doesn’t work high sierra on the pc removing password protection is not possible without losing all data

This makes it useless for image backups since there’s no way to unlock the drive from a repair disk and unlocking on another pc clobbers all datait’s hoped that toshiba will fix their password software at least on the pc

It works well but a small note came with the device inside the packaging that said this device contains led and dangerous cancer causing chemicals wash your hands after touching it

Wd is probably similar in reliability but toshiba has a better warranty length so i get these for backups and if it dies in 3yr toshiba will send you a brand new one
