Pros & Cons
Pros
The instruction manual is clear and precise and leaves no doubt. It is a fantastic hobby and more productive and enjoyable than i'd imagined. Outstanding results with near perfect repeatability.
Yes, it is expensive, but i believe it is worth every penny. Dead easy. For the rest no complaints. Bought it based on the positive reviews and haven't been disappointed.
The quality, accuracy and engineering is the best i've ever seen in any shop equipment. The accessories are also quite remarkable. Overall a very nice tool, albeit a little expensive. I need a dependable tool that works without me tweeking it.
The tormek t-7 motor spins through a trough of water. The technology is simplistic in nature (after all, it's just a wheel spinning through a water trough) but itsubstantiates the technology by making its user's experience far more efficient. The ston... Read More
Leather strop wheel is rounder and smoother and works. Quick change axle helps when want to switch back to the regular stone.
Cons
The tormek is useless for sharpening planes and chisels. The * that holds it to the stone is not even close to to 90 degrees. But adding in the crooked badging, the 40 anniversary logo is slightly off.

After i have used mine for the past month i have no regrets and would recommend this system to anyone interested in quality sharpening
Not a good ideabut i proved to myself that my blades were indeed razor sharp after just three minutes with the tormek t7
Its true my tools and knives are now dangerously sharp
Price
Yes it is expensive but i believe it is worth every penny
This was worth every dollar i spent for it because my employees are lazy about keeping their tools sharp and this inspires them
Three wood chipper knives which a machine shop charges 15
99 plus shipping over the tormek 665
Packaging/appearance
Heres a brief list of items ive sharpened in the first two weeks of owning the t7 handtool package
Competitiveness
I touched on the user experience with the tormek and how it was vastly superior to grizzlys
You can change out the grinding wheel in the same amount of time as it takes to regrade the tormek 200 grit stone and your resu... Read More
On top of that the tormeks stone is far superior to the grizzlys
I havent spent enough time to get the final finish of the water stone but theyre at least 90 there with much less effort

I refinished chisels which were not only dull as a butter knife but rusty and chipped to far better than their original factory sharpness

I juggled for several weeks between the grizzly sharpener and the tormek t7

After less than a week i put the grizzly on ebay they wont accept returns if the item is opened and purchased the tormek which included all the aforementioned items sans the knife jig

Given amazons great return policy i was able to return my tormek redundancies and wound up only spending 250 more for the tormek than the grizzly with all the tormek tools and accessories

What it really lacked though was that true precision that is a benchmark of the tormek
