The light was a little brighter than i cared for so i purchased a lutron dimmer tgcl153ph as it was one of the models the vendor listed i am very happy with this combination of light and dimmer it goes from about the equivalent of a nightlight all the way to its maximum and the system is silent

So if focusing on a fireplace either the top right and left corners will be darker when aimed only at stone or if you aim to catch the top right and left then a circle of light will fall on the walls to the sides
