Pros & Cons

Pros

The leather sheath that this knife comes with is about as good as any i've seen on a production knife. My only gripe is that i wish it had a lanyard hole as the sheath is very well friction fitted to the handle, and can be difficult to remove from the...  Read More

The shape of the handle is perfect and i haven’t experienced hotspots on my palm in the time that i’ve had this. I have used it for hours on end to carve spoons and stuff like that too. It is really comfortable with a bit of heft in the handle.

I work in landscaping and this is a must have for me. Main use of a knife of this size is in carving and shaping wood. Great at wood carving and simple cutting tasks around camp.

The ergonomics of the micarta scales is amazing and they are grippy. Added photos for sizing. It's smaller than i expected, but it fits my hands perfectly.

A ferro rod works with this knife, but i use the scraper that comes with it instead anyway. The blade is 1095 carbon steel that is uncoated so you need to keep it oiled. I maintain the knife by honing on two different grades of ceramic rods.

I’m very disappointed in the poor 90 degree spine

The blade shape and length is easy to cut with the handle heft makes usage predictable and controllable for me

Price

Having a leather one made adds too much to the cost

Easy field sharpening instead of hours on a big scandi edge

I personally like a kydex sheath so i purchased a scout style carry kydex sheath from 7rattlesbushcraft

I can’t sharpen a full scandi blade at all so the secondary bevel is very nice for me

I’ve owned this knife for a year

It’s a puukko but i guess if you’re a purist and want a true scandinavian grind this one does have a secondary bevel

Also if you’re a carver this one carves great but unlike a true puukko grind it’s not a razor

I can also see if you have big hands this knife would feel small

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

But that’s true of any smaller blade

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It’s small enough to not feel like a burden

If your trying to baton a bunch of big firewood this may not be your knife
