Pros & Cons
Pros
The micarta is heavy, thick and stout. The weight is flawless, and the grip is very comfortable.
I let mine sit after some wet work but after a little love with a buffing agent it was near mirror finish. The coating is thick, as some have said, but with use, the texture smooths out. The handle is sublime.
The sheath is kydex with an esee tin and pouch attached as well as attachments for my multitool, armageddon fire steel, and stylus pro flashlight. The belt clip appears to be super strong, and can also be attached to a pack strap.
Fieldcraft knife gets a gung-* bigfoot adventure rating of ten tracks and a sighting. It is carried on all my bigfoot expeditions in the deep woods of the pacific northwest.
The tops fieldcraft is the cheapest, and if i could only choose one, it would be this one. The design is near-perfect, without being over the top nor impractical. This knife just rocks.
Cons
This thing is comical. The modified scandi grind is * and can't be polished well. This blade is an over priced hyped marketing stunt.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is awesome and the size and the way it fits my hand make it useful for many purposes
You can tell the quality just by handling it top notch
The sheath also was no where near the quality of the condor i purchased for 30 bucks
The striker on the handle is ok but i have some designated strikers that i prefer to use as i’m inconsistent with the one built in
Price
For 120 shipped you cannot pass up this deal get it before its sold out or the price goes up
This is the real deal for a very low cost extreme duty survival knife
Packaging/appearance
The reason for the four stars is the large exposed portion of the blade and the crappiness of the original coating
This protects the portion of the blade that does not have the tops 34traction coating
I ended up returning the benchmade bushcrafter
Or topps or that the name must be emblazoned on the knife
Competitiveness
I also own a kabar bk2 potbellyseal pup and esee 5
Tops knives produce a great tool and this one is top knotch
Firesteel sheath and knife youre set for a trup into the woods
It almost feels like you could use it as a prybar if needed
