I still like using a gps better than phone apps

The via has a lot of helpful features similar to those found in older tomtoms but not often found in gps apps

The via also holds a charge for a long time without being plugged in though the main screen doesnt have a battery indicator you have to click into the menu

Lifetime map updates are standard too and since your map is fully loaded into the device it doesn’t require cellular data to work but you need to hook it up to your pc from time to time

On the down side it does take at least a minute to boot up and it’ll take another couple minutes to determine your route as its trying to search for traffic data

The menu and search functionality could use a good “user experience” update as well

There also isn’t much flexibility in seeing your current route while driving the interface tries to keep you very much within the next several miles of the journey
