Imo the immersion heater was often switched on for waaaay too long this simple bit of kit solved the issue immediately

I checked this with timeguard’s helpline and they confirmed that this was correct when the lights haven’t been used for a bit the switch goes into a ‘sleep’ mode and requires two presses one to ‘wake it up’ from the sleep mode the second to actually turn the lights on apparently this also applies to other versions of the switch

I did point out to the helpline guy that maybe the instructions should have mentioned this and he agreed it seems i wasn’t the first person with this query

So i bought one of there from a local company for the heating with a switch for the hot water but that confused her as she would put it in hot water and then say the heating is not working
