Pros

The best gear is the gear you use. The color cast of this variable nd filter is strong but it’s not nearly as bad as other filters. Build quality is good and the bag it comes with is high quality.

The a7iii does a great job of correcting the white balance, getting rid of the blue hue that sometimes shows up in pictures. I'm just a beginner in photography, and it's just a hobby i enjoy. Tiffen is the film industries standard for a reason.

Cons

This filter is only useable at 2 to 5 stops. The transition from min to max is not consistent. It jumps to about 7 stops.

The knurled ring is too heavy for my sony rx100 m4. They say that all variable nd filters have this proble, and i should only use it zoomed way in. At wide angle it produces an x right in the middle of the picture.

Main complaint is that every time you take it out it tends to be full of static and lint. Almost unusable on the strongest end of the filter. Excellent build quality but to me this isn't usable.

I found that when i went to the more extreme ranges 48 stops for long exposure shots i would get this strange xshaped pattern of darkness across the frame which ruined my exposures

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

This was really only apparent during extremely long exposures though 15 seconds or greater so it doesnt make this filter useless
