Pros

Antenna tid added to the kit is far superiors to the duck that comes with the kit. Was a little hesitant to get this but am very happy with it.

Go online and download the free chirp software. Use that when selecting the radio and have fun. I like the convenience of the programmable feature but the interface that is supposed to come with the unit is not user friendly.

Great cheap gadget. Bought for using as a police scanner. Works up to a mile with regular antenna, maybe 3 miles with truck magnet antenna.

Audio is strong out the speaker. Sound is clear and crisp. Clear but it can be a little quiet around the machinery. Good audio quality.

Great buy especially for the price. Great value for your dollar. Nice little radio for the money. An excellent buy all around.

Cons

I do not and will not recommend this to anyone who is a licensed amateur radio operator like myself" "the cable is useless. Just find a stand alone radio and buy a seperate cable, save $5 and hours of frustration" "emailed vendor.
