Pros

Attaching and removing the rack to/from the hitch is relatively easy (though it takes a little wiggling to pull out even with the hitch lock fully turned out), and very secure. There is a knob to tighten the rack once it is inserted in to the hitch.

Tilt feature is more than adequate to open the hatch of a bmw x3. Rack folds down nicely, to open tailgate of our tribeca suv. It can also be folded away from the vehicle (pivot point near the hitch) to access a car hatch/trunk as well. Back to the pa... Read More

This is a great option for small vehicles with a low tounge weight limit. We use the helium to haul kids bikes on our smaller car and it's perfect for this purpose. Very easy to install and remove from vehicle.

The retractable cable lock is nifty and convenient. Built in lock cable, very easy to use. Locking mechanisms are awesome.

Cons

The rubber ratchet straps are a masterpiece of poor design. The rubber straps need to be completely re-designed. Uses an industrial type rubber hold down harness as opposed to bungee cords which degrades in due time.

Thule needs to be upfront with its limitations and it’s customers. No empathy. Would avoid thule at all costs.

Small frames dont work easily with the product

The rack clears the spare tire but the tailgate cannot be opened with the rack installed

Price

What i did not expect was a failure of the antisway ratchet system that almost cost me the loss of the bike on the highway
