A wry look at life as a junior doctor in the nhs. Tells you what it's like to be a doctor in an under funded and crumbling nhs. Opens your eyes to the dire state of the nhs and how doctors are underpaid.
The book heightens both peaks, and is a must-read. A very thought provoking read. Each chapter starts with an explanation about the post he is in and a few anecdotes from his life.
Some of the things described are quite harrowing and others side splittingly funny. The dark humour is a way of dealing with stressful situations. Very funny, at times horribly sad, but most importantly, shocking.
Cons
The tone of the book was dismissive and misogynistic. The book is an excuse to moan about having to work. This book is absolutely insulting to people's illnesses and religion.

The humour is constructed and forced. The writer tries to shoehorn humour into just about every point he makes.

I decided to read this book after being impressed by the tv series based off of it which was unbelievably good tv
And with the present policy of sending patients who would otherwise see a gp to ae things can only get worse
As a big fan of humour i really enjoyed this book and the style it was written in with the way it made me both laugh and cry
