Pros
The therapist's choice is soft on my skin--heavy and secure. This one is ok and has stood the test of time, but is a bit stiffer than the previous, so not as easy to mold to body &. Been a theraputic massage therapist for 17 years.
It stays very cold for well over an hour, but keep in mind you are only supposed to use it for 20 minutes at a time. It easily brings cold relief to whatever area you need it to without having clunky or condensation covered ice packs making a mess.
They're great - flexible, never frosty because of the outer cover. Doesn't frost or clump up and remains pliable. They are also biodegradable.
Cons
Hot & cold packs are a cheap knock off of softouch. I have to keep microwaving, it which concerns me because i don't want it to pop. My old cold pack easily lasts 3x longer and is lighter than this.
Even though i kneed it into flat dispersion each time, it lumps up in use. It is useless for wrapping around body parts. Also, it has a crinkly sound.

Because the packs are frost free the product is more comfortable to the skin
I wish it had come with some sort of cover
