Pros & Cons
Pros
Although the book is rated as used, it appears as fresh as new with dust cover. I find myself picking up this book and just opening it to any page and reading!
Barbara g. She does allow historical truths and a collective voice to resonate with the reader. This tome belongs in the library of any woman who considers herself a feminist.
Cons
If you are a scholar or an academic looking for reference or research material i would say look elsewhere. While i find the lack of scholarship disturbing worse is the defense of this book. If you adhere to feminism or to this particular book because ... Read More
Barbara walker's "herstory" attempts to prove a supreme female deity. There were, of course, many goddesses in herstory, however to deny them their individual importance with a pseudo-intellectual monotheistic interpretation makes us no better than th... Read More
History is falsified, mythology is distorted, and long-discredited theories are treated as fact. There is a lot of information in there, but most of it is simply not verifiable and much of it outright lies!

Just like genesis chapter 1 is at odds with genesis chapter 2 so scholars are finding that the majority of the gospels and letters once ascribed to paul are no longer thought to be by him and the fact that they are at odds with the first half of the new testament is what has helped put the authorship in doubt

As for this book i find almost all the new testament referrences to be myths and yet a lot of the orthodoxroman chuch texts as well as a portion of the new testament written in the 2nd and 3rd centuries are a mix of ideas that came not from jesus but from roman and greek texts
