This book is an utter delight. The collection is dense with delights, a treasure. That alone makes this book a gem. The book is bound in leather or a very good fake leather, really nice to hold and to read.
The book contains 27 thematic chapters that blend passages from theroux’s previous books and writers that have inspired him.
Cons
Any connection between all these writings is ephemeral. Calling it a tao is an insult. This is simply pathetic, mean, and tedious. A useful compendium of quotes but no insights.
Author's extreme judgemental outlook poisons his so-called humor. It feels totally self-indulgent on the part of theroux.

This is such a nice book to give as a gift but getting that ugly huge sticker off the back which takes up almost the entire back of the book took a lot of delicate work and by the time i was finished little bits of leather were chipped off
