    Barry strauss has here written a very flowing history of spartacus and his war

    Strauss takes the path of not embellishing the tale to make it mean things that perhaps it didnt and instead just tells the tale in a highly readable account

    The book does not spend a lot of time trying to put the entire roman world into focus accepting that the real tale is the slave revolt spartacus led
