Pros

My comment adds to the endeavor of the book, without in any way detracting from its crucial importance. I find his reasoning cogent enough that i think it would be unwise to dismiss it as so much tomfoolery.

The author has modified his diet to try and ensure that he is alive when the early miraculous stage arrives so he may be technologically modified that he might live much longer than normal, and be cured of any biological deficiencies.

Cons

Some of kurzweil’s predictions have already come true many seem just as far off as they must have when the book was written

But that is the nature of writing about the future reading these kinds of books is best done in the present

My biggest objection to the work however is kurzweil’s use of the word “intelligence” without clearly stating what he means by it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Not until a much later chapter does he discuss “consciousness

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

He mentions that he is like “the pattern that water makes in a stream as it rushes past the rocks in its path

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The actual molecules of water change every millisecond but the pattern persists for hours or even years

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It is caused by physical objects and physical laws
