This book initially reads like a diary of sorts, that the main character is keeping for anyone who may find it. Then moves to various arenas on earth, to the crew that evacuated, and lastly narration.

Andy weir disgusts me that he calls himself an author. There are large portions of the novel that are scientific jargon that, quite frankly, i just did not understand. I was offended by the amount of scientific jargon in the book.

Background music is inappropriate and distracting. It's a shame they don't offer clips of the audiobooks. Although the novel does end on a happy note with the rescue of watney, the plot of the novel is not one for a reader who is reaching for an ideal...  Read More
