I read it when it first came it and it stunned me. Reading it again knocked me for a loop again. Read it again.

Le guin masterfully creates here not one, but multiple political cultures. The political sci-fi succeeds in creating a fully realized world.

Genly finds himself embroiled in the fierce and confusing local politics. The people of winter are an anomaly when compared with the other eighty-three worlds.

This novel is extremely confusing and very hard to understand. The topics in this book are confusing, and do not come inherent to the reader. They talk about waking up and eating and going out.
