Pros

Geralt of rivia is a witcher, a monster hunter who travels around earning his living by taking care of problems that plague the people. Geralt and dandelion are super funny and have the best friendship. In the lesser evil, geralt is offered to be paid...  Read More

What a fantastic read - well written, rich with vivid imagery and mysterious storylines. Will be buying the next one for sure. More @ ultra meital reviews.

The audible narration by peter kenny is good, and he's good at adopting different voices during dialogue. It is sometimes difficult to keep minor characters straight since there are sometimes many in a scene, but what a great reason to reread parts!

Cons

This book reads like it was written by maybe a fifth grader. The narrator is annoying. I am too old and world weary for that weary stuff.

A few points of misogyny in the book that are quite jarring. It reads like an adolescent boy's fantasy, one that also thinks crafting a powerful female lead means that she has to be a * #$#. Even nenneke is almost condescendingly described for her rel...  Read More

The other characters fall into a handful of someone for geralt to kill, someone to impress, and someone to * with.

Shame on you orbit publishing. Don't count on the hype. No more.

Its well written and while it does feature immature and misogynistic moments and descriptions its overall a great story weaved in a nonlinear almost episodic fashion different but not unlike the netflix series

Ill also say that i was impressed by the screenplay adaptation because in many respects the show paints a better picture than the book
