This is the first book in cornwells saxon series and although i think its the best ive enjoyed all the books in the series which looks like itll be at least 13 books

Uhtred is fictional though based on family who were the author’s own ancestors and that license taken quickly becomes a fullfledged character i wanted to follow and learn more of as his fate is woven with that of alfred king in early english history
