Pros & Cons
Pros
The scabbard fits the sting sword replica perfectly. The only downside is that on the sting replica the handle is the worst part about it. At first it was a little hard to get in, it needs to slide in a certain way.
The construction is outstanding. It's not excessively ornate, with subtle leaf-motifs covering the very fine leather wrap. It looks really nice with some simulated leather and metal decorations. The leather is soft and the fittings are nice and tight.... Read More
It's a bit of a tight fit at first but after sheathing/unsheathing a few times it's perfect. I have the bilbo version of sting from the hobbit, but the frodo/lotr version will fit this scabbard as well. The sword slides in with a nice heavy click at t... Read More
It fits the sword nice and snuggly. The sting fits perfectly, no rattle, no slip. This uc scabbard fits the uc sword perfectly.
This is a must have for any tolkien fan. If you are looking for a collectible for the lotr saga, this is it. Fits the original lord of the rings frodo’s uc sting.

Sometimes it will lock in perfectly and at other times the blade will simply slide inout without any resistance

Also the bottom of the scabbard has little bumps that make it look broken but the box artwork had them too so they must be intentional

It does get a little stuck in the sheath but then it slides right in

The fittings are solid brushed metal they were both in halves at one point but were welded and ground to a finish so it looks like one piece

There is one screw in each metal fitting holding it to the wood in addition to being glued or something i tried to remove the pieces after unscrewing and couldnt so they are attached well

However they are not so well attached as to have no wiggle

Anyways i have the museum collection sting and as advertised it does fit however there are a few problems

The hilt and pommel on my sting are weathered more than the fittings so it looks like the sheath was put away for a few hundred years while the sword got weathered
