Just be aware that depending upon what the tines are sinking into simply tightening the carriage bolt might not be enough to make them sink in

Out of 4 smaller hardware stores and the 2 giant ones no one had any

The 38 inch description means the little square part of the carriage bold behind the rounded bolt head fits a 38 inch anti turn washer

Not sure why no hardware stores near me have these things

Tip hammer them in good before torquing down the nut on the carriage bolt
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
That always works if the bolt is going in metal which has a punched square hole to hold it but any of you that have used carriage bolts in wood know that whether or not it holds in wood depends on how solid the wood is and how tight you need to get it

However if the wood is soft or maybe somewhat deteriorated you can easily find yourself unable to hold the boltwhich just turns when trying to lock down the nut and youre stuckyouve got to figure out another approach

I knew the risk that the heavy torque i would be applying to the nuts would cause the bolts to turn leaving me stuck
