Cons
Book is written in a slangy way as if for midddle-schoolers. Author spews ridiculous claims with no scientific backing. The author uses endnotes, but 1) his endnotes often site '.
It reminds me of the well-intentioned, but factually incorrect, fake memes shared by my mom online. It is not easy to read due to the syntax. The organization of the book is rather poor.
Wohlleben anthropomorphizes, and, contrarily, he denies such. He makes broad pronouncements based on the apparently paltry number of tree species in his forest.
He doesn't grapple with the larger issue of how to reduce the import of potentially invasive species. all the nature-lovers' hyping of the inanimate by insisting it's key to saving the planet is underdiscussed.

I have to give credit to the author for his creative ways of explaining what we see every day but rarely take the time out to really notice and for a deeper understanding of what trees face on a daily basis

At first i thought this book had been written at an 8th grade or lower level

Id been curious about the plants and animals but never had it occurred to me that plants trees in this case communicated with each other too care of the young and those that had been felled by lightning or chainsaw and all that the different species of trees endured over their life times
