Jane ridley's life of edward vii is a wonderful book. Gives a glimpse at the over-indulgence that edward vii was known for, but curated on so much more.
The book has scholarly creds, and does argue many sides of each issue, which is judicious. A grand book.
Cons
Shame on nytimes book editors for recommending this book. Just a compilation of author's research notes. The book is very disappointing.
Author asserts that bertie never slept with nor fathered children by any of the women he was involved with. Too much detail. Details often contradict previous accounts.
