Pros
The writing is beautiful, even when describing the horrific. The characters and their stories are heroic and heartbreaking. It's too coarse for 9th graders, but i think it tells a story about a side of war that never gets talked about.
It's very hard to stomach reading the book but the parts i have read are so eloquently written. This was well written, without any discernible political bias.
