If you're looking for some required reading to dig up, with some perspective that will have you looking at the autumn leaves and winter snow with new eyes, the giver is just the book for you. In the audio version, the narrator is excellent.

The giver is an interesting and entertaining read. It tackles some complex issues in a quick read. I appreciated far more after reading the author's comments and speech about it in the 1990s.
