Pros & Cons
Pros
The story keeps you guessing until 75% in, when it becomes quickly clear who the * is. A very interesting, complex thriller. Keeps you guessing right up till the end.
The main character, rachel, is an alcoholic.
Cons
Listening to just one persons point of view, their thoughts, likes and dislikes droning over and over in my ear. Very slow and depressing. The entertaining portions are infrequent and brief.
Their lives seem shallow, joyless. Not one single likeable character. All characters have extreme mental disorders, no morals and all lack any redeemable qualities.
The writing is on a 5th grade level, simple sentences. No prose here, no beautiful writing. It’s written so passively. It felt like it was written alongside a guidebook.
