    The hopelessness helplessness and despair of the situation in which these people find themselves makes harrowing reading but the worst part of the whole thing is that back in the 1930s stories like this were common

    My daughter bought me this book for mothers day and as with all kristins books it is well depicted from the history of the drought years on the great plains of the usa which was really horrible
