Courageous and headstrong, alice is a good role model for young readers. Well-mannered, courageous, resourceful and possessing integrity an adult would envy.

The book wraps up rather nicely, even despite it's little 'teaser' cliffhanger. The book is full of suspense. The concepts in the book are rather unique and intriguing and there are plot twists and surprises.

The novel is fast-paced and beautifully illustrated by alexander jansson. If i have any beef with this book, it's that it intentionally leaves open threads as it shall be a continuing series. Looking forward to the sequel.

The young two are readers, their job is to enslave weaker creatures. The goal of each character is to inflict harm or be harmed. Unfortunately it was just thrown in a big box with another item so the cover is all dinged up.
