While at times heartbreaking, it is also tremendously inspirational. Such a fierce motherly love and protector. A wonderful heartfelt book.

Mom is a strong minded-get-er’done religious zealot. This novel is palpably predictable in its happy endings. Instead, what you are left with is a book about a slightly disfigured boy that grows up and finds religion.
