Cons
The book is not a history of financial manias and bubbles. Both the macro and micro organization often seems poor to me. If you want to learn about religious manias, there are many other books on this topic.
I am through 2 chapters, and find the book very disappointing. The content of the first 2 chapters is so boring (for me) that i find it hard to stay awake through the narration, sadly. A disappointment after a surprisingly good podcast review.

He is not effective at highlighting what is important and what is not
He falls into the trap that i warn my students against which is allowing your sources to take the lead and decide what to include

I would rather he cut down the islamic emphasis and move into more contemporary delusions like the big lie of the stolen 2020 election
