Pros

It has the flavor of an old fairytale. But this time it extends beyond a single character. This novel has great suspense. It also has extremely sad parts in it. Many hints are scattered about.

Of the three works in the border trilogy, the second – the crossing – gets the fainter praise. Both books are equally excellent. These two are good in spite of the cruelty of their world because they decide to be.
