Pros
It has the flavor of an old fairytale. But this time it extends beyond a single character. This novel has great suspense. It also has extremely sad parts in it. Many hints are scattered about.
Of the three works in the border trilogy, the second – the crossing – gets the fainter praise. Both books are equally excellent. These two are good in spite of the cruelty of their world because they decide to be.

Instead they become thieves themselves. The story is filled with philosophical nonsense, foreign language, and way too much woe. There is also a silly indigenous character with unrealistic dialogue.

The obscure sentences the lack of quotation marks in dialogue the long segments in spanish untranslated and the word here and there that sent me to the dictionary
