Those who found the dialog structure tedious in the first book will find themselves doubly annoyed in the second book as the younger man character is about as obtuse as one can get and simply parrots the wise mans words back to him about 90 of the time which does not add to the message but only breaks up what the wise man is trying to convey

The repetitive nature i believe is either a consequence of poor translation or to slow the reader down so they think harder on the concepts which i dont believe is necessary

There is some sense that one or the other partner would need to sacrifice their needs which suggests a codependent unhealthy relationship but the authors claim otherwise

The book is written as a conversation between a philosopher and a young man which is good and bad good in that it allows one to mull over the teachings in a way that will potentially endure more bad in the sense that the concepts and principles are not outlined in a typical logical format as it is done with other selfhelp books
