Pros & Cons

Pros

I recommend this book for anyone who wants to stay curious and learn. It's entertaining, thought-provoking and really makes a lot of sense. Learned about this book from another book, talk rx.

Stanier writes concisely. It's simple, structured and it comes with extra resources like podcasts, videos and a pdf. I wish all managers would incorporate a simple and powerful general coaching framework.

It’s effective, easy and most importantly impacting. The content is good and has helped me understand my shortcomings as a listener.

There are seven questions in order to help with your coaching. Be curious, ask questions to facilitate reflection and self-learning. No psychobabble, no nonsense everything is usable, field proof.

Cons

This book is pure boredom in prose. Such a dull read with outdated information. Maybe it works if you are clergy.

Some management trainer could have summarized all the knowledge in his book in one or two blog posts. If you're looking to learn about coaching teams, this is not the book.
