    I hadn’t realised not told by gp who obviously didn’t know either how much wellbeing is affected by your proprioception your knowledge of body in space and certainty of when you step forward you can rely on that foot supporting your weight and not tipping you sideways

    I genuinely agree with this book that using cbt style thinking looking at the positive steps achieved rather than dwelling in the doom helps neuroplasticity to occur more quickly sadly neuroplasticity is better in younger people but doesn’t mean it won’t work in older patients

    Just look at any neuro texts around cte the neurological damage from single and multiple concussions we still only understand a small part of how the brain functions which is why it’s interesting to psychiatrists because they want to know why someone harms another to medicate it whereas us clinicians want to know which part of the brain sent the signal to do that action that the psychologist was wondering why the brain made that idea happen on the first place
