Pros & Cons
Pros
Easy to follow but at times difficult to read due to emotions evoked. Plenty of twists to keep the reader’s interesting. A little surprised at the ending. I wish i could remember better how that one ended!
The boy from the woods by harlan coben is a page-turning mystery thriller. Coben's writing style is fast-paced and engaging. A few nj rockers' lyrics bounce up in this novel, making me google one reference to see which song it was from because i didn'... Read More
The characters are interesting, and they are, by-and-large, likable. The boy from the woods is a complex and enigmatic protagonist who is easy to root for.
Hester crimstein is a television criminal attorney who knows through her grandson that naomi was bullied relentlessly at school. Wilde is a man who was raised in the woods and has a unique set of skills that make him the perfect private detective. Hes... Read More
Cons

None of the characters are particularly likeable. The attempt of the male author to write a female lead character is about as un-authentic as a jack in the box taco. The final revelations are honestly laughable.
I challenge anyone to read even one page of george orwell's 1984 and then attempt to read the boy from the woods. This is the sort of book that should have shirtless fabio on the cover, and unless you are the kind of person who reads that kind of nove... Read More
Nothing about the boy from the woods is really relevant to the crime-on-tape storyline. There are multiple hook-ups suggested and * politics abound, including incriminating evidence that is hidden away. While an innocent man rots in jail, the perpetra... Read More
The main character wilde is completely unbelievable and at the same time such a stereotypical protagonist that it just feels like sloppy writing. There are a lot of subplots about the 70-year-old lawyer having a teenage love affair, and wilde being a ... Read More
