From the first page to the last, i was glued to the book. Keeps you guessing. Billie, the dog, figured in the finale.
Reed mattox is a detective who recently lost his human partner. He and his k-9 partner billie are out to solve a series of murders involving a samurai sword wielding vigilante.
The characters were awesome especially billie the dog. The characters unfold smoothly. The protagonist is conflicted, but emotionally intact.
Cons
The author dustin stevens could have researched the breed a little (a lot) better. She clearly needs those toenails clipped!

Plot is encompassing but prevents me from giving dustin stevens a fifth star—reed really failed if we are to judge his success by the number of lives saved
