Great book. Black ice. Even better. Highly recommended. I highly recommend this book.
Has to work with the dea in a foreign country with all the frustrations that entails. He goes to mexico and discovers things are not what they seem.

Insults his boss and makes it clear he has no respect for him. He's a bureaucrat. He doesn't have a virtue ethic.

Quality
For me the story got into a lot more detail than it needed but was able to put the story lines together with the info.
This time, already being familiar with the main character, i was struck by the author’s incredible style of writing.
I had been reading jack reacher books and got bored and disgruntled with the story lines.
Came back to harry bosch novel and was very impressed with the story line and excellent writing.

The book felt a little bland but i believe that was because i mostly listened to it and the narrator is bland

His various voices for the characters were nice but other than that there wasnt a lot of inflection

When that happens it seems that the book seems to focus too much on scenery driving road names what the passing houses look like etc
